There were at least seven carjackings within a span of about four hours in Minneapolis Friday night, according to Crime Watch Minneapolis.

The crime watchdog picked up on at least seven carjacking or attempted carjacking reports between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m. This comes after the city finally warned residents about a significant uptick in carjackings of rideshare drivers last week. Crime Watch Minneapolis reports that there have been nearly 50 Uber or Lyft carjackings since August.

Crime Watch Minneapolis also documented several robberies at gunpoint Friday night within the span of about five hours.

According to the latest statistics provided to the Minneapolis City Council, there have been 82 carjackings in roughly the last month and 436 this year, which is a 38% increase over last year.

Update: By the end of the night, there were at least 15 robberies at gunpoint and at least 11 of them were carjackings, Crime Watch Minneapolis reports.
