On Wednesday evening CNN will host the second Republican Presidential debate.  Candidates will be divided in to two different debate groups, debating at two different times.  All candidates must reach at least 1% in several National polls, but candidates who did not rank in the top ten in polling between August 7th and September 10th are debating separately at an earlier time slot.

Candidates who did not place in the top ten include Rick Santorum, Bobby Jindal, George Pataki, and Lindsay Graham.  Competing in the prime time spot are Donald Trump, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Mike Huckabee, Ben Carson, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Chris Christie, Jon Kasich, and Carly Fiorina.

Holding one of the longest records in the country, Minnesota has not voted for a Republican Presidential candidate since Richard Nixon in 1972.  Can the selected candidate turn such a deep blue state, red?  Alpha News asked Senator Marco Rubio for his opinion at the Iowa State Fair.  Senator Marco Rubio said he has a plan that “speaks to all Americans” and that “limited government and free enterprise” as well as a strong military will sway voters.  Click on our video to see the full interview.

The second debate ranked the candidates according to their average on the national polls; Senator Marco Rubio is currently ranked 6th among his competitors.  The next debate is set for October 28th and will be hosted by CNBC at University of Colorado at Boulder.
