(Saint Paul, MN) – Monday the House gathered for session and disussed the Omnibus Agriculture Finance Bill. Representative Rod Hamilton brought forth the bill, stating that it has a strong focus on food safety. A number of amendments were proposed for the bill to request additional funding to fight the avian flu outbreak in Minnesota. Representatives Phyllis Kahn and Mary Franson offered an amendment to open the doors for industrial hemp research and cultivation here in Minnesota. The amendment was adopted and The House voted on and passed the omnibus bill.
