President Joe Biden said in a letter Monday to congressional Democrats that he has no intentions to step down as his party’s nominee for president amid concerns about his mental fitness.
A handful of House Democrats, including Minnesota’s Angie Craig, have called on Biden to step aside following his performance at the first presidential debate.
“Any weakening of resolve or lack of clarity about the task ahead only helps Trump and hurts us. It is time to come together, move forward as a unified party, and defeat Donald Trump,” Biden wrote.
