Two more people have been charged in relation to the kidnapping and brutal murder of Monique Baugh on New Year’s Eve in Minneapolis, one of them is a former Hennepin County probation officer, and both are wanted on warrants.

Elsa Elena Segura, who is a former Hennepin County probation officer, has been charged with kidnapping in relation to the murder of Baugh, a real estate agent, on New Year’s Eve. Berry Alexander Davis, 40, has also been charged with second-degree murder and kidnapping in the case, according to a report.

Segura, 28, worked for the Hennepin County Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation from June 2014 to December 2019, most recently as a probation officer, the report states. Segura’s Linkedin page also lists former jobs working at a shelter and as a “youth specialist” at The Link, a non-profit that provides programs and services to at-risk youth.

Both Segura, of Fridley, and Davis, of Brooklyn Park, were charged by warrant and are not currently in custody. Segura was originally booked into custody at Hennepin County Jail on Tuesday but was released after 36 hours on Thursday without any charges listed.

Cedric Lamont Berry was the first suspect to be charged last week. He is still in custody in Hennepin County Jail on $2 million dollars bail.

Similar to Cedric Berry, Davis has a lengthy criminal history with 24 convictions in Minnesota, including multiple felonies. Davis’ convictions include first-degree burglary of an occupied dwelling, felon in possession of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm and several narcotics convictions. Davis has been under supervision since June 2016 for his most recent felony narcotics conviction.
