Students gathered at the University of Minnesota to protest fetal tissue orders from Advanced Bioscience Resources, or ABR (a story Alpha News broke here).

Abby Marino, Vice President of Students for Life, says that they are calling on President Kaler to take an official position on the issue, saying, “We’re asking for an investigation and clarification of policy.  We want an explicit statement made that these parts were not and will not be bought from aborted babies.”

A counter-protest ensued from pro-choice groups on campus.  Emma Sjostrom of the University Pro-Choice Coalition says that the University “could state an official policy on their fetal tissue research” and that there are “no illegal things happening at the U of M.”

Marino says they will continue to call for an investigation in to the issue and an official clarification of policy.
