Police departments across the state are reporting that their 911 lines are down due to a national outage.
“The 911 lines are not operational nationwide. This is for phone calls and text messaging. If you need police, fire or emergency medical assistance in Minneapolis, please call 612-348-2345. We will advise when this issue is fixed,” the Minneapolis Police Department said on Twitter.

The Minnetonka Police Department said 911 lines are out nationwide.
911 lines are out nationwide. In Minnetonka and Hennepin county, you will need to call 952-258-5321.

Until the issue is fixed, residents should call 911 dispatch center phone numbers. A list of those numbers is available here from the Department of Public Safety.

Update: As of 7:20 p.m., several departments were reporting that their 911 lines had been restored.
911 functionality has been restored. Please do not call 911 to test the system, as it may interfere with real emergency calls getting through.
