Josiah Raul Mosqueda, a former employee of Hiawatha Academies in Minneapolis and volunteer at many other Minneapolis schools, was involved in sexually explicit communications that included transferring graphic, sexually explicit images, and videos, to minors aged 13 to 17 via Facebook Messenger from July of 2017 to December of 2018.
In one of these instances, a minor reached out to Mosqueda for help financially with fixing his cell phone. To which Mosqueda responded that the minor could repay him by “hook[ing] up.”
The evidence clearly shows that Mosqueda was well aware of his illegal actions. One message he sent to a minor read “I mean if I show you literally can’t show anyone. I would go to jail and never be able to teach or work in a school lol.”
Mosqueda also has posted some interesting comments on Facebook regarding his views on law enforcement and the government. One of these posts includes a statement that says “all pigs must die,” and “[expletive] the pigs, barbeque them all.”
U.S. Attorney Erica MacDonald said her office is beginning a campaign on public awareness for child exploitation that will begin at an Event in Bloomington in May. MacDonald has also urged parents to monitor their children’s communications and to report anything suspicious to the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA).
