National Democrats were confident that the Mueller report would give them momentum to impeach President Trump, however, it did the complete opposite. The conspiracy theories that Trump was somehow working with the Russian government was completely disproven.
Democrats running for President however are already invested in the narrative and some are still defending the idea of impeaching President Trump even if they are not able to name a specific reason.
Minnesota Senator and Presidential Candidate Amy Klobuchar were asked about this issue on CBS This Morning. In the interview, Klobuchar again refused to rule out that Democrats would continue to try and impeach President Trump.
GOLODRYGA: “So Robert Mueller couldn’t prove collusion, he wouldn’t decide on obstruction. Does this take impeachment off the table?”
KLOBUCHAR: “It would be up to Democrats in the House whether to consider impeachment, “but they cannot make the decision until we have the entire report.”
Former Alpha News Reporter and current RNC spokesperson Preya Samsundar released a statement criticizing the position of Senator Klobuchar.
“Americans deserve to know why Amy Klobuchar would choose to undermine the Special Counsel’s report by furthering conspiracies of impeachment without cause. Despite her own presidential ambitions, not even the Democrats push for impeachment will help Klobuchar as she looks to gain traction in her failing bid for the White House.”
