Pro-Life Action Ministries and supporters gathered for a Dobbs Day prayer rally on Saturday at the Capitol rotunda in St. Paul to celebrate one year since the overturn of Roe v. Wade.
The rally started with a welcome from Brian Gibson, CEO of Pro-Life Action Ministries, followed by Brian Walker, the program director of Pro-Life Action Ministries, who emphasized the need for prayer.
Pastor Fred Thoni of North Heights Church shared an inspiring message of hope for the pro-life movement.
“We thank God for the thousands and thousands of babies whose lives have been spared this past year because of that decision,” Thoni said.
He also discussed the next steps in the fight to protect unborn lives.
Minnesota Family Council CEO John Helmberger spoke about the need for taking a firm pro-life stance.
“Today, as we celebrate God’s mercy poured out on our nation a year ago, we also resolve to commit ourselves to the fight, no matter how long it takes, to the fight that he has entrusted to us, to protect his gift of life to us in our state,” he said.
A powerful testimony was shared by Paula Ellefson of Rochester.
“I have the privilege of helping people heal from having had an abortion, so that they don’t keep making that mistake and that choice over and over,” Ellefson said. “I know that the community might say that abortion is good for a woman, but I am standing here today to say that it is not. It brings destruction whether it is physically, outwardly, or inwardly, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally; in every single way it brings destruction. People suffer silently with that grief.”
