A St. Louis Park High School staff member has been placed on administrative leave over what the school called “alleged serious misconduct” in a notice sent to staff on Friday.

A copy of the email sent to staff and obtained by Crime Watch Minneapolis stated that school officials had become aware of a “concerning social media post” that contained allegations of “serious misconduct” involving a St. Louis Park High School employee.

The message to staff stated the school immediately reported the social media post to the St. Louis Park Police Department and will work cooperatively with police during an investigation. Staff were urged in the message not to speak to media about the allegations.

“Our top priority is the well-being of our staff and students. We encourage anyone in need of support to reach out to our school counselors and social workers,” the message said.

The message to staff did not name the staff member who had been placed on leave, nor did it indicate the nature of the allegations or whether any students at the high school had been impacted or affected by the alleged misconduct.

However, a search of social media turned up a public post by a woman that appears to implicate a male St. Louis Park teacher and implies allegations of a sexual nature involving an unnamed minor girl. The content contained in the post, including an audio clip of an alleged conversation involving the accused male, appears to suggest that the alleged activity took place several years ago when the male was a teacher at another school.

Alpha News reached out to the male named in the social media post but was referred to his attorney who replied via email, stating that the teacher “has retained counsel and upon my advice no comment will be made.”

The St. Louis Park Police Department has also released a statement to media confirming that an investigation is underway involving a teacher at the school.

Alpha News will continue to follow developments in this story.
