A loss prevention employee was sprayed with a chemical irritant and another was knocked to the ground as two females tried to exit a Northtown Mall store without paying for baskets full of merchandise on Black Friday, and the Blaine Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
On Monday the Blaine Police Department released a video of the incident, which they say took place around 9 p.m. on Friday, and they are seeking the public’s help in identifying the two women involved in what they are calling an aggravated robbery at the Burlington Coat Factory store in the Northtown Mall.
The video appears to show two females trying to leave the store without paying for baskets full of merchandise they had in tow. When a loss prevention employee attempted to thwart them by grabbing their baskets as they exited the store, one female can be seen spraying something in the employee’s face. Another woman, also identified as an employee, tried to intervene and she was knocked to the ground.
The suspects circled around during the fracas, grabbed the baskets again and exited the store with the merchandise. Blaine police described the suspects as black females in their 20s. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 763-427-1212.
