Bloomington Robbery Attempt Leaves One Person Shot

An attempted robbery at a Bloomington business left one employee shot and police searching for suspects

Police are investigating an apparent robbery attempt that left one person shot in Bloomington on Tuesday evening.

Police were dispatched to a strip mall shopping center on the 8900 block of Penn Avenue South in Bloomington, MN just after 7:15 p.m. on a report that someone had been shot, according to a press release by the Bloomington Police Department.

Officers arrived to find a male with a gunshot wound to his upper body. They learned that the victim was an employee of an adjacent business and he had been confronted by gunmen in an apparent robbery attempt.

Recorded police dispatch audio from the time of the incident stated that the shooting suspect was a younger black male, likely in his teens, with short brown hair, about 5’6” with a thin build and wearing a black shirt.
