A Minnesota city is hiring for a position that pays up to $125 an hour and requires that applicants subscribe to various left-wing racial theories.
“The Brooklyn Park Economic Development Authority (EDA) and North Hennepin Community College (NHCC) are seeking a Project Manager to coordinate collaborative work and fundraising for the Center for Innovation and the Arts,” reads the job posting. The applicant selected for this role will be charged with “support[ing] the development of more arts programming in the community” and increasing donations to the city’s planned arts center. Apparently these tasks require a firm faith in progressive ideas about race.
One of the “desired qualifications” is a belief in systemic racism. The preferred candidate “acknowledges the history in our country of the oppression of black and indigenous peoples, and the power, privilege, and access disparities along the lines of social identities.”
There is other coded language that alludes to more leftist concepts. For example, job applicants are required to understand the “anti-racist framework.” On its face this seems innocuous, but the term “anti-racist” is linked to a left-wing movement that bemoans the presence of white people, characterizes American society as “a white supremacist system,” per a Vox explainer, and supports reparations, according to the man who literally wrote the book on “How to Be an Antiracist.”
Applicants must also be skilled in creating “deliberate systems and supports to achieve and sustain equity (racial and other) through proactive, preventative, and restorative measures.” This again is a coded call for affirmative action and reparations in the case of “restorative measures,” and affirmative action in the case of “proactive” measures.
The final hiring requirement states that a candidate must “[believe] in the humanity of all peoples.”
Applicants are asked to demonstrate their commitment to these concepts in an essay attached to their application. The person who gets hired to this position will earn between $80-150 an hour, depending on how much previous experience they have. It is unclear how many hours per week this person will actually work, but should they conform to the standard 40 hour work week, this future employee could be paid well over $300,000 a year, putting them in the top 2% of all earners in America.
Brooklyn Park will hire for this opening by November. Alpha News reached out to the city for comment but did not receive a response.
