Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, one of the most prominent and influential conservative voices in America, has died at the age of 31, President Donald Trump announced.

Kirk was shot while speaking at an event Wednesday at Utah Valley University. Police are still looking for the suspect, the Associated Press reported.

Kirk leaves behind a wife and two young children.

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie,” President Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
