Former Minnesota DFL Chair Ken Martin accused Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. of “murder” following a measles death in Texas.

“Robert Kennedy Jr. has murdered another child in Texas,” Martin posted on X, while sharing an article about the death. News reports say that the child was not vaccinated. On the typical vaccine schedule, children receive two vaccinations against measles in the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination. The first dose is administered at 12 to 15 months of age and another at 4 to 6 years.

Three deaths have been reported so far in connection to the outbreak and there are around 607 cases of measles nationwide, many of them in Texas.

RFK Jr. founded the organization Children’s Health Defense (CHD) and is its former chairman and chief litigation counsel. CHD’s mission is to end “childhood health epidemics by eliminating toxic exposure.” He advocates for choice for parents around vaccinating their children and is an advocate for studies of vaccines and possible adverse effects.

However, recently, he recommended that parents vaccinate their children with the MMR vaccine. “The most effective way to prevent the spread of measles is the MMR vaccine,” said RFK Jr.

Martin, now the chair of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), has launched a “People’s Cabinet” to “fiercely counter Trump administration chaos and lies.”

“I’ve been traveling across the country nonstop since I started this job, and what I hear over and over is that Americans want us to challenge Trump’s unimpeded lies, confront his reckless agenda, and offer a better alternative,” said Martin. “Trump has stacked his Cabinet with out-of-touch billionaires and know-nothing loyalists who are wreaking havoc on the lives of working people across this country, with total disregard for the harm they’re causing our families.”
