Dr. Neil Shah: Republican and conservative are not synonymous

"I for too long had faith ... that Republican and conservative were synonymous, then I realized that they weren't," Dr. Neil Shah told Alpha News.

Dr. Neil Shah speaks at a debate last week at Providence Academy in Plymouth, Minnesota.

Dr. Neil Shah affirmed that he is “absolutely” an anti-establishment candidate in a race for governor that’s pitting him against four other Republicans vying to defeat Gov. Tim Walz.

Although he seeks the Republican nomination, Shah was not afraid to criticize the party in a recent post-debate interview with Alpha News.

“I for too long had faith … that Republican and conservative were synonymous, then I realized that they weren’t,” he said. “There are great people in the Republican Party but there’s a small slice of leadership that feel … they have to bless you running for office.”

During the interview, he also bolstered the positions he’s taken against the governor and in support of his own constitutional values.
