Actress Jane Fonda called for murdering pro-life Republicans during an appearance on “The View” Friday.
“We’re not going back. I don’t care what the laws are,” Fonda said, referring to pro-life laws passed by Republican politicians across the country.
“Besides marching and protesting, what else do you suggest?” asked host Joy Behar.
“Well I’ve thought of murder,” she said. When asked to clarify, she doubled down, saying: “murder!” The panel of hosts erupted in laughter. Just moments earlier, one of the hosts predicted that Fonda would “get a Nobel Prize” for her activism.
When asked for a solution to new pro-life laws around the country, Jane Fonda declares that they need to "murder" Republican politicians.
Joy Behar immediately jumps in to claim "she's just kidding," warning "they'll pick up on that and run with it."

Fonda’s “climate PAC” endorsed Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison in the 2022 midterms.
“Jane Fonda has committed her life to fighting the good fight against fossil fuel companies. I’m proud to have the support of someone who always shows up to protect our planet,” Ellison said of the endorsement. Fonda made a video for the Ellison campaign elaborating on her endorsement.
Fonda was also a vocal opponent of Enbridge’s Line 3 pipeline replacement project and visited Minnesota in March 2021 to join protests against the pipeline.
The 85-year-old released a statement after her appearance on “The View,” saying she was just using “hyperbole,” according to The Daily Caller.
“While women’s reproductive rights are a very serious issue and extremely important to me, my comment on The View was obviously made in jest,” she said. “My body language and tone made it clear to those in the room — and to anyone watching — that I was using hyperbole to make a point. Women across the country are facing real threats when it comes to our bodies, and people lose faith in our mission to protect women when others choose to focus on tangential issues and passing jokes instead of the actual problem at hand.”
Dozens of pro-life organizations and pregnancy resource centers across the nation have been vandalized and firebombed in the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, including one in Minneapolis just last weekend.
In August 2022, Ellison issued a “consumer alert” about pregnancy resource centers, accusing them of “misleading” clients. He cited one report written by four pro-abortion organizations, including Gender Justice, which spent more than $5,000 supporting Ellison’s reelection campaign last year, according to campaign finance disclosures. Erin Maye Quade was a contributor to the report. A member of the Democratic Party, she now serves in the Minnesota Senate and has authored numerous pieces of pro-abortion legislation.
