As Minnesota’s fraud crisis continues to dominate national headlines, Elon Musk is demanding accountability from Gov. Tim Walz.

“Prosecute Gov. Tim Walz,” the SpaceX and Tesla CEO wrote in response to a viral investigation into Minnesota fraud by independent journalist Nick Shirley.

“Tim Walz is a crook,” Musk added in another tweet, responding to concerns about Minnesota’s new paid leave program that takes effect in the new year.

Earlier this month, the state refused to definitively say whether or not illegal aliens can access the program in response to questions from Alpha News.

Musk went on to explain that the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) he helped create “found hundreds of fraud schemes.”

“This is one of many,” he said of Minnesota. “There was massive fraud in every government program, especially Federal funds sent as block grants to the states.”

Federal prosecutors recently estimated that fraud in several high-risk state programs could exceed $9 billion in taxpayer money since 2018. Minnesota’s “staggering, industrial-scale” fraud has been a leading topic in the national conversation over the past month, prompting new investigations and calls for Gov. Walz to resign.
