A man died from a gunshot wound outside a recently opened restaurant in a busy strip mall in Edina Saturday night.
Responders were dispatched just after 9 p.m. on a report of a shooting on the 3500 block of West 70th Street. Dispatch audio indicated that a person had been shot in the head.
Several sources reported to Crime Watch that the scene appeared to be just outside the recently opened Ichiban restaurant.
A photo provided to Crime Watch showed that law enforcement had canopies set up at the scene of the incident, likely to protect evidence while police processed the scene.
The Edina Police Department released a brief social media statement following the incident confirming that despite lifesaving measures by responders, the victim died at the scene.
Edina police said that the suspect remained on scene, and they believe the suspect and victim were known to each other.
It was just days ago that another man was killed in a stabbing at an Edina bus stop during a reported “random” encounter.
