A formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) has been filed against congressional candidate AJ Kern, who is running in a republican primary against US Representative Tom Emmer in CD-6.
The complaint was filed by Matt Stevens, who also recently filed a complaint against Alan Duff, who is running against House Speaker Kurt Daudt in a republican primary as well.
Kern says the charges are in relation to inappropriate labeling, saying, “Mr. Stevens filed an official complaint alleging that my PayPal and GoFundMe accounts were not properly labeled with appropriate disclaimers such as ‘Paid for and Approved by AJ Kern for Congress.’”
Kern goes on to say that if the FEC “does indeed identify any real irregularities,” that she will “work with the FEC to bring my campaign materials fully into compliance with all FEC rules and regulations.” A copy of the response received by the Kern campaign from the FEC is listed below:
Kern is competing in the Republican primary against Representative Emmer and small business owner Patrick Munro this Tuesday, August 9th.
