Fr. Altier reflects on the state of America

"Our faith isn’t in a human being. Our faith is in God and we know who’s going to win.”

Fr. Robert Altier

Fr. Robert Altier of the Church of St. Raphael in Crystal, Minnesota, offered a reflection on the state of America during a homily Friday.

“Look at the blueprint. Jesus died, Jesus was buried and then he rose from the dead. Where are we right now? The death and burial,” said Altier.

“The Devil and his minions are rejoicing. They think that they’ve won. 2,000 years ago they thought the same thing. He is so stupid, he is so blinded in his arrogance that he’s playing the same game. The result is going to be the same, too. His vile, disgusting head is about to get squished,” he continued.

As in previous homilies, Altier said every American must make a choice between good and evil — between a “free republic” and “atheistic communism.”

However, “we don’t need to be despairing. We don’t need to be worrying,” he said.

“We need to be rejoicing because who’s the victor over the world but the one who believes in Jesus Christ? Our faith isn’t in a human being. Our faith is in God and we know who’s going to win,” he added.

Altier also repeated his notable aphorism: “If they said it on the news, do not believe them.”
