ALEXANDRIA, M.N.– Early this morning, a North Memorial Hospital Helicopter crashed in Douglas County. According to the Facebook page “Police Clips”, around 2:10 a.m. the helicopter crashed at what appeared to be the end of a runway in Alexandria, M.N.
North Memorial Hospital released a statement this morning stated that there were no patients on board and all three members of the crew are currently being treated at North Memorial Hospital.
The 911 call shows that the crash knocked one crew member unconscious, one was critical, and the other was speaking. Officers could be heard stating that they needed to “extricate the pilot.” Emergency crews on the 911 call also state that they “could not see anything with their goggles through the fog.”
No information has been given as to why the helicopter crashed or why they were in Alexandria.
