Minneapolis, Minnesota Mike Freeman, Hennepin County Attorney, plans to release his decision on the Jamar Clark case this morning.
Local Black Lives Matter and Black Liberation Project groups have demonstrations planned for today.
Minneapolis Police Chief, Janeé Harteau, warned the groups planning protests, saying, “For every person who wants to protest or deliver a message in the streets, there’s someone else who’s just trying to get home,” and that “protesters who interfere with public safety will be arrested” (Star Tribune). The police department released the following video addressing the potential protests:
In response to the Minneapolis police department, the protest groups, along with the Minneapolis NAACP, released their own video:
Black Lives Matter Minneapolis also announced the impending decision on their Facebook page, adding: “We have nothing to lose but our chains.”
