Jason Lewis Considering Running For Office Again

“That’s plenty of time to run a vigorous campaign against a group of Democrats that would now make Hubert Humphrey blush,” Lewis said.

Star Tribune Morning Hot Dish reports that Jason Lewis is mulling a run for higher office. Currently, he is being encouraged to seek his former position as a Congressman from the 2nd Congressional District or to challenge U.S Sen Tina Smith.

Lewis does not expect to make a decision during the summer but will decide early fall. “That’s plenty of time to run a vigorous campaign against a group of Democrats that would now make Hubert Humphrey blush,” Lewis said.

Star Tribune reported Judy Keen highlighted some possible campaign themes for Jason Lewis. Lewis told her “I do think we’re at a critical moment in our country’s history, certainly in the modern era, where I in all sincerity am looking to save the country. A lot of people scoff at that sort of language, but I do think we would have a place that our parents wouldn’t recognize if we keep going down this road that some of these Democrats want to take us,”

Another theme would be to highlight just how much more radical the Democratic party has become. “That’s plenty of time to run a vigorous campaign against a group of Democrats that would now make Hubert Humphrey blush,” Lewis said.
