Karen Monahan has accused Democrats of not believing her #MeToo moment, and now she is sharing medical records that corroborate her side of the story.
Monahan, the woman accusing Rep. Keith Ellison of domestic violence, has been calling out Democrats for having a double standard on the #MeToo movement. In a Twitter exchange earlier this week, Monahan said Democrats do not believe her story, adding that she has been “smeared, threatened, isolated” from her own party since coming forward.
Now Monahan has released a medical record from 2017 that documents the physical and emotional abuse she claims to have suffered at the hands of Ellison.
The medical report from Jodi K. Milburn, MD reads in part:
“She states that she was in a very stressful environment for years, emotional and physical abuse by a partner with whom she is now separated. She did not have any physical injuries that required a physical examination in the past. She identifies the individual she was involved with as congressmen [sic] Ellison, and she is worried about retribution if she identifies him publicly.”
Monahan shared a picture of the report on Twitter, calling on Democrats to “take all abuse allegations serious.”

The Twitter exchange began over a discussion about Christine Blasey Ford, the woman accusing Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct during a high school party. Democrats have been quick to support Ford despite the allegations lacking substantial supporting information. However, skepticism still remains over Monahan’s claims. Monahan says it is amazing the “measures people have to take for their humanity to be validated.”
Monahan also says she has told investigators she would be willing to talk with Ellison with them in the room. According to Monahan, Ellison declined any attempt to meet.
