You can have the Taj Mahal, knock yourself out, a literal funeral vestige of Islamic supremacism that lasted for far too long in Hindu India. I wanted to see the real India so I came to Tamil Nadu, in the far south where the marauders left little mark.
As a result, I’m faced with temples twenty stories tall, fulsomely decorated with humans, animals, deities, sub-deities and saints. This part of India mainly worships Shiva and I’ve been in several prayer sessions, called poojas, surrounded by devotees elaborately adorned in ashes, naked from the waist up and wearing a wide array of colors in the clothing that covers their lower bodies. I’m happy that the barbarians didn’t destroy these architectural wonders, and with it their people and culture, in a fit of monotheism, one of the most lamentable ideas to emerge in human history, of which surely Islam is the worst.

Muslims in India destroyed vast stretches of the indigenous culture; it’s almost impossible to overstate the damage or calculate the loss. The Hindus they did not slaughter outright they captured as slaves to be sold around the world. Say, aren’t slaves being sold in Libya at this very moment? This slaughter and destruction of temples was done in the name of their moon god, from which Islam descended, ripping off Judaism and Christianity in the process. One might call it the Scientology of the seventh century.
Islam came to India the way it came to most of the world: through invasion, conquest and slaughter. The results in India were particularly atrocious, what with the penchant for hatred of polytheists.
Historian Will Durant wrote in Story of Civilisation that “the Mohammedan conquest of India was probably the bloodiest story in history.” Had Western media existed at the time, it would have questioned what the Hindus did to provoke this slaughter or worried about some backlash, like they do after today’s Islamist terror attacks, which never materializes.

Until recently, India was governed by a ruling class that hated their nation. Sound familiar? But the world’s largest democracy, like America last year, found its own answer in an election of the status quo versus real change in 2014.
Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, was that change, overwhelmingly and surprisingly elected. Like his nation, he’s an unabashed Hindu. Media here would call him a racist nationalist. You know that narrative. Funny how media tries to stamp down love of nation wherever it presents itself.
In what I consider one of my best pieces of writing, despite a scant audience in Minnesota for the topic, I discussed his election in “India’s Cataclysmic Election & Narendra Modi.” My first sentence reveals all that follows: “India’s poor voted to no longer be poor.” It ended by praising the forgotten men and women of India: “But mostly, here’s to the average Indian voter, literate or illiterate, who had the courage and genius to realize that the future does not come often in elections and as a nation seized it with both hands.”
Yet India, too, has its Regressive Left and not coincidentally ensconced in the media and academica. Earlier this week I read in a Times of India editorial that “the habit of looking at pre-colonial history as a perennial war between Hindus and Muslims is a British colonial construct (which unfortunately has duped many Indians).”
It’s impossible to be more historically wrong but there you have it, lies peddled daily in order to convince people that history provides no clues to the present and that even the present is not what your own eyes and experience say that it is.
Just yesterday the British newspaper The Telegraph ran a nice story of how Mary gave birth to Jesus Christ as . . . recounted in the Koran. This is cultural hatred and sickness and we’re supposed to enjoy it as it is forced down our throats.
One of the most famous and prominent religious scholars of the Mughal Empire, Ahmed Sirhindi said plainly of Hindus and Sikhs: “With whatever intention and purpose they are killed, the humiliation of infidels is for the Muslims life itself.”
Things haven’t changed much in the centuries following. Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has famously pushed back against “moderate” Islam as touted in the West. “Islam is Islam,” said he. Indeed it is.
And that’s the problem: regressive cultural elites insist the wholesale importation of Muslims into secular western society is essentially the same as an American expat in Paris. Except it manifestly is not.
Google “Rotherham” and grooming gangs. You’ll find the truth but you actually have to search for it. Over 1,400 young girls were raped and sexually abused by Pakistani Muslims and all because British authorities refused to intervene sufficiently to stop the horror because they were afraid of being called racist. I wish I was making this up.
There are no success stories of widespread Muslim integration into societies that their very religion tells them to oppose, to fight against and, following the behaviour of Mohammed, to kill if necessary. As British commentator Katie Hopkins reasonably asks: “Why do Muslims wish to immigrate to Christian nations?”
The Regressive Left immediately paints any criticism of Islam as racist (it is a religion, not a race but liberals only have that one, worn out card to play) and call any critic a bigot. Mind you, if Catholicism taught what Mohammed and the Koran teach, they’d condemn it in a flash. This is the hypocrisy with which we are faced and to which, fortunately, we are increasingly impervious when called bigoted. Honesty is not bigotry.

Christopher Hitchens, in a YouTube video of a mere 90 seconds from 8 years ago, admonished us to “resist it, resist it while you still can, and before the right to complain is taken away from you, which will be the next thing.”
In many ways, but not all, that right has been taken away. Surely it has in the UK and Germany where mere objection to Islam is deemed a crime against the state. This week a foolish man who put bacon on the steps of a British mosque was sentenced to sixteen years in prison. German police have stormed the residences of citizens as a result of Facebook posts critical of Islam and migration that the state has ruled verboten.

“The use of travelling,” Dr. Johnson wrote to Hester Thrale from the Isle of Skye in 1773, “is to regulate imagination by reality and, instead of thinking how things may be, to see them as they are.”
We now no longer have to travel in order to achieve this result, although obviously I recommend it. What we must do is understand the forces in the West that seek our own cultural destruction and speak out against it without fear. It doesn’t hurt to travel to countries that have a long acquaintance with the “religion of peace,” the very last thing those experienced in such matters would call it.
