Minnesota continues to lead all the midwest neighboring states in both the unemployment rate and death per capita. Minnesota is one of the few states in the midwest that still has a statewide economic shutdown.
Before Governor Walz extended his prohibition on regular church services, bars, salons, gyms, and many other businesses the New House Republican Caucus highlighted that these efforts have provided no visible benefit to the residents of Minnesota
Many Minnesota businesses have indicated that they plan to open on May 18th, despite state orders and other businesses have said they might never reopen.
The day after Walz press conference extending the shutdown, concerned citizens planned a protest outside the Governor’s mansion.
