The founder and CEO of American Majority will be in Minnesota to spread his message on how to build a political machine that wins elections.

American Majority is a nonprofit that provides training to conservative organizers and political candidates in the United States.

Ned Ryun spoke with Liz Collin on her podcast about how to “play the same game as Democrats do.”

Ryun said it is more clear than ever that Republicans must get into the ballot harvesting game. The practice involves the gathering and submitting of completed absentee or mail-in ballots by third parties.

“You saw it in California. I remind people that in 2018, all of a sudden, Democrats surprisingly picked up five or six Republican House seats in Orange County, LA, which was unthinkable. How did they do that? Turns out they are ballot harvesting,” he said.

Ryun also points to Florida as an example of what to do.

“They put 10 million into a six-week absentee ballot chase, chasing about 1.1 to 1.3 million Republican ballots. And they think in every county, they should get no less than 80% return, sometimes 90%, but they commit and they’ve been doing this for multiple election cycles. DeSantis was going to win by double digits anyway against Charlie Crist, but he won by almost 20 points,” Ryun explained.

He said Democrats only ramped up their efforts in the COVID era.

“Obviously, with help from Mark Zuckerberg and Center for Tech and Civic Life and others, they really put what they had been planning on steroids in which they went to universal mail-in massive chasing of ballots, and which they realized if we can do a ballot-out, ballot-in machine, well, it doesn’t matter about persuading voters per se,” Ryun said.

“We also saw that play out in 2022, in which we should have had a definitive midterm, we should have picked up on average 30. We barely picked up the House, we should have made gains in the Senate. We didn’t. We lost seats in the gubernatorial [races] as well,” he said.

Ryun believes the charges against former President Donald Trump should serve as a serious warning and not just to Republicans.

“I think it’s very clear from the left how they’re going to conduct politics moving forward, and that they’re going to use the legal system as a political weapon against their political opponents,” Ryun said.

“Go back and look at the history of the late stage republic, the Roman Republic, this is what it devolved into. And if you really study history, it doesn’t end well,” he added.

“The only way the left doesn’t continue down this path is if we commit to mutually assured destruction. And we use the exact same tactic … we call for every red state, AG and DA to do the exact same to Democrats until they feel more pain than us and I have to be honest, when you’re dealing with two sets of political beliefs that are so far apart that have really nothing in common, I think the only way we get back to normal is you’ve got to beat the American left into unconditional surrender,” Ryun said.

He is looking ahead to what’s at stake in 2024.

“I think we’re really on the precipice right now in which the American left wants nothing to do with the real constitution, with the original intent of separation of powers. They have been committed to an administrative state, authoritarian governing philosophy for over 100 years. And it just keeps accelerating and accelerating. The fact of the matter is, they don’t want to have dissent. They don’t want to have questions. They want everybody to comply and submit. And if you don’t submit and comply, they’ll throw the book at you, they will literally throw the book at you, try to put you in jail, silence dissent, and seize power,” he said.

Ryun will be at the Hamel VFW on Tuesday, April 11. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. with the official program beginning at 7 p.m. The event is sponsored by American Majority and Freedom Club. Tickets are $5 per person.
