A new internal poll has former president Donald Trump leading President Joe Biden by four points in Minnesota. According to a press release from the Trump campaign, McLaughlin & Associates polled Minnesotans on three different ballot scenarios, and Trump maintained a lead over Biden in every scenario.
In the first scenario, Mclaughlin & Associates asked Minnesotans about their preference for president in a race featuring Trump, Biden, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, Jill Stein, and Chase Oliver. Trump led Biden by four points (41%-37%) in this scenario. Meanwhile, Kennedy received 7%, the other candidates each received 2% or less, and 11% of respondents identified as “Undecided.”

The second scenario asked voters about their presidential preferences in a ballot scenario that excluded RFK Jr. and Cornel West. In that poll, Trump led Biden by five points (44%-39%). Meanwhile, Stein received 5%, Oliver received 1%, and 11% of respondents identified as “Undecided.”
Lastly, the polling firm asked Minnesotans about their presidential preference in a “head-to-head ballot” that only featured Trump and Biden. In this scenario, Trump led Biden by two points (47%-45%), and 8% of respondents said they were “Undecided.”
In a press release about the poll, the Trump campaign said “even in deep blue states, there is an exodus of voters from Crooked Joe because of his weakness, failure and dishonesty.”
The McLaughlin & Associates poll was conducted from June 9 – June 11, polling 600 Minnesotans who were considered likely general election voters. “The accuracy of the sample of 600 likely general election voters is within +/- 4.0% at a 95% confidence interval,” a memo on the poll results says.
Last month, another set of polls conducted by the same firm found Trump either tied or leading in Minnesota across various scenarios.
Should Trump win Minnesota in the fall general election, he would collect 10 electoral votes he did not receive in either his 2016 or 2020 campaigns. In turn, the likelihood of the 45th president achieving 270 electoral votes and winning the presidency would significantly increase.
