Overnight shooting injures one in downtown Minneapolis North Loop

Police responded just before 1 a.m. Saturday to a report of a shooting on the 300 block of North Washington Avenue in the North Loop area of downtown Minneapolis.

Just prior to the shooting report, police reported hearing about seven gunshots in the area, according to police scanner audio.

Police responded to the area but didn’t immediately find anyone shot.

The dispatcher aired to police that a group of 10 was reported to be fighting before the shooting report. Security at The Office Pub & Grill reportedly told 911 that there were guns drawn during a standoff, according to further dispatch audio.

Police reportedly found spent shell casings in front of 315 Washington Avenue North, as well as a “blood scene,” and the area was taped off as a crime scene.

About 1:07 a.m., dispatch aired to police that a person was dropped off by a red Chevrolet Tahoe at North Memorial Health Hospital in Robbinsdale with a gunshot wound.

A sergeant confirmed to dispatch just before 2 a.m. that the injured party at North Memorial was related to the shooting scene in the North Loop.

No clear suspect information was aired at the time, and no information was immediately available about the extent of injuries or condition of the injured party.
