Perry Nouis, a Republican candidate for MN House, has denounced Rep. Ginny Klevorn’s defense of Governor Walz’s emergency powers.
The Republican candidate for House District 44 has said that Rep. Klevorn’s vote against a vote on Walz’s powers was an “abdication the role of the legislature.” Nouis has pushed back against Walz’s emergency orders before and has said that Democrats have failed Minnesota on Twitter.
“Rep. Klevorn blocked a vote to end the peacetime emergency that Governor Walz declared in March allowing him to continue his unrestrained power to dictate how the state manages the COVID pandemic,” said Nouis. “The legislature has needed to have a voice in how the state responds to the coronavirus for months and once again that voice has been denied.”
Watching @MinnesotaDFL-ers elected to the MN House of Representatives continuing to abdicate their role to manage the state is appalling. Allowing @GovTimWalz to solely make decisions without #mnleg involvement is misfeasance. @mngop @MNCD3GOP @GinnyKlevorn #tcnt @ccxnews

Nouis has said the Governor’s extended emergency powers were part of the reason he decided to run in the first place, saying that “COVID exists but the pressing emergency ended months ago…” and ”What has sickened me is not a virus, it is what has happened to our country this year.”
