Protesters in Minneapolis jumped on the cab of a semi-truck and pounded on the windows after the truck apparently attempted to drive through an intersection blocked by demonstrators.
Following the verdict of Derek Chauvin being read in court Tuesday, protesters took to the streets of Minneapolis to celebrate and continue their protests of police brutality.
“This truck was speeding in,” a man’s voice said in a video capturing the encounter with the semi-truck. The driver slowed down upon approaching a large group of people, then honked for them to move.

Apparently, protesters did not appreciate the driver’s honking. As soon as the honk sounded, people bombarded the truck — one man climbed on the cab and stood on top for several seconds until the driver backed up, and he fell off back onto the street.
Other protesters pounded on the windows and doors with their fists, launched themselves on the steps on both sides of the truck, and yelled at the driver.
“Disconnect the trailer!” a man’s voice shouted as one protester attempted to pull at wires connecting the cab to the trailer.
Another protester jumped on a step to the driver’s side and hung on to the rolled-down window through which the driver was shouting. The man appeared to hang on as the truck honked again and slowly made its way through the crowd.

The semi-truck driver appeared to be trying to communicate with the protesters but was overruled by angry shouts from hundreds surrounding the truck.
Meanwhile, one protester at another location climbed on top of a moving truck, dancing and waving his arms in what appears to be celebration. People marched alongside the truck and others flew flags out of cars, one flag declaring, “Get your knee off our necks.”
