Republican State Senators from Minnesota, Majority Leader Paul Gazelka and President Jeremy Miller, attended remarks by President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this Tuesday at the White House. They had the following to say after the event.

Gazelka called it “a privilege and an honor” to hear from “[the U. S’s] strongest ally in the Mideast, Israel.” He went on, saying, “as a democratic leader in the region, both Israel and Minnesota benefit when we exchange ideas and experiences with other leaders. Whether it’s calling out hateful attacks, stopping anti-Semitic policies, or developing new opportunities for our economy, Minnesota has a friend in Israel, and that friendship was on display this afternoon.”

Senate President Jeremy Miller noted that “today was an example of taking time to focus on the good and progress we can make when we listen and work together.” Senator Miller is appreciative of “hearing from all sides of an issue and learning more about their perspective so we can find common ground to move forward.” The State Senator remarked that “attending this historic event today was an honor that will stay with me for a lifetime.”
