Several people were treated for minor injuries after a firework was set off in an Eagan theater Tuesday night.

Eagan police say they responded to Emagine Theater around 8:25 p.m. at 2055 Cliff Road for a report of an ignited firework inside a theater showing the movie “The Black Phone.” Officers assisted paramedics with treating and releasing multiple people for minor injuries.

A Snapchat video captured the incident. People were heard screaming as they ran away from the site.

Police say their preliminary investigation shows that a suspect or suspects lit a large firework and tossed it in the theater before leaving.

According to Crime Watch, a Somali man with two Somali juveniles was identified as a suspect. Crime Watch says one person sustained a leg injury and “they were bleeding.”

As of Wednesday morning, no arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation.

The general manager for Emagine Theater in Eagan told Alpha News the theater is working with investigators and at this time cannot comment any further.

This incident comes after the Fourth of July mayhem where fireworks were shot toward buildings, cars, people, and police in downtown Minneapolis.
