Steve Wenzel a former Democratic Minnesota State Representative with an impressive 28 years of service praises President Donald Trump for his staunch pro-life record in a recent speech to a local Pro-Life group.
Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life (MCCL) is a pro-life advocacy group dedicated to opposing abortion in its state. Wenzel has been a member of this group for 47 years, and also served as a state representative for 28 years, concluding in 2001.
In February, Wenzel gave a speech to the Morrison County MCCL chapter praising Trump for his pro-life positions and alleging that the Democratic party has “made a pact with the devil” through their partnership with Planned Parenthood.
The longtime Minnesotan began his speech quoting Trump who said that “every human soul is divine, and every human life, born and unborn, is made in the holy image of Almighty God” at the 2020 March for Life.
“The fact is that Donald Trump has done more for the pro-life cause than all the presidents since Roe v. Wade combined, from Richard Nixon to pro-abortion Barack Obama,” Wenzel declared. “There is no question that in a second Trump term, Roe v. Wade will be overturned… President Trump and all of you will relegate Roe V Wade to the ash heap of history.”
According to Wenzel, Trump’s appointment of 187 pro-life judges and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh has “put our judicial system in favor of life.”
He also highlights how all current and former serious Democratic candidates for president in 2020, on the other hand, “advocate abortion for all 9 months of pregnancy, including some who advocated no protection for a baby born alive from a botched abortion. That is called infanticide,” Wenzel emphatically concludes.
“Truly the Democratic party and their candidates for president have made a pact with the devil,” he says, condemning a pending arrangement between Planned Parenthood and the Democratic presidential nominee to for the abortion provider to donate $50,000,000.
Despite the many years, he’s spent as a Democrat, Wenzel was not afraid to reach across the aisle in 2016, acting as a national delegate for Trump at the Republican National Convention and later attending the president’s inauguration, according to local media.
Although his many years of service in St. Paul have come to a close, Wenzel was elected to be the chairman of the board of directors at the Center for Rural Policy and Development, according to the Brainerd Dispatch. The Center is a non-partisan, not-for-profit policy research organization that aims to provide policymakers with suggestions for how to best serve rural Minnesota.
Wenzel is also an instructor of political science at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minnesota.
