Sunday homily: America’s choice is between Christ and atheism

Dufner noted that the rise in atheism has coincided with America's moral decline.

Fr. Thomas Dufner of the Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids, Minn., drawing inspiration from Abraham Lincoln, said in a recent homily that America is at a crossroads and the choices are clear: Christ or atheism.

“Those two are at odds with one another and there is no common ground. There can be no consensus. There’s no way to bring those two together,” he said.

Dufner noted that the rise in atheism has coincided with America’s moral decline.
