Wednesday morning’s broadcast of The Jon Justice Show, one of the only local conservative radio programs, was its last, Alpha News has learned.
“It was a great run at KTLK iHeart. I’ve made some amazing friends along the way and I am excited for what comes next,” host Jon Justice told Alpha News.
The cancellation comes amid “major restructuring” of iHeartMedia’s programming, the Des Moines Register reported, referring to an internal memo from senior executives.
KTLK is owned and operated by iHeart.
The Des Moines Register reported that stations in Iowa, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Indianapolis have been impacted by the layoffs.
Justice took over as a host on KTLK in 2016, hosting “Justice & Drew” for several years with co-host Drew Lee, who passed away in 2022.
Listeners reacted in shock when Justice announced on Facebook Wednesday that he was moving on from iHeart.
“You’re my morning coffee! Now what are we supposed to do?” one listener wrote.
“This just sucks!!! I’ve listened to your show forever and truly appreciate a live, local show that focuses on politics and other current events,” added another.
Alpha News reached out to iHeartMedia for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
