Despite saying that the United States needed to pass “a strong, bipartisan package” to help fight the coronavirus, Tina Smith has once again proven she to be a reliable Chuck Schumer vote as Democrats insist on adding a left-wing agenda to the Coronavirus relief package.
Tina Smith and Senate Democrats filibustered and blocked the stimulus bill that would provide more resources to Minnesota workers and businesses – even though the bill was a bipartisan effort.
A columnist for the Wall Street Journal notes that there is nothing but “Democratic gamesmanship with Senate bill. To play politics now is the height of irresponsibility. Again, [Democrats] were part of the Senate crafting and initially were on board. Now caving to progressive wing—again. At the peril of economy.”
Minnesotans drastically need help: economically along with a greater amount of testing kits for the virus. The lack of relief has continued to push the stock market deep into the red.
RNC Spokesperson Preya Samsundar quickly blasted Tina Smith issuing a statement saying “If Tina Smith were taking coronavirus seriously, she would have voted for the aid Minnesotans need – but it’s apparent Smith would rather play partisan games with Chuck and Nancy than serve her state. It’s time to end the act that Smith is anything other than a pawn for the left as she continuously joins their efforts to obstruct and work against President Trump.”
