President Donald Trump endorsed Republican Senate candidate Jason Lewis on Twitter Monday afternoon.

“Jason Lewis will be an incredible Senator for the State of Minnesota. He is a proven leader who will help us lower your taxes, protect our communities and defend your Second Amendment,” said Trump, who first expressed his support for Lewis during an October rally in Minneapolis.

“Jason worked with me to save Minneapolis along with your great National Guard after your local political leaders failed to do so. Jason has my complete and total endorsement,” he added.

Lewis has now received endorsements from both President Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, who endorsed Lewis in July.

“I am so humbled by the support our campaign continues to receive from the president. Both President Trump and Vice President Pence know this is the most important election of our lifetime, both for Minnesota and America as a whole. 2020 has turned into a choice between public safety and anarchy, freedom and tyranny. We can’t afford to get this one wrong,” Lewis said in a statement released Monday.

The Republican candidate criticized his opponent, Sen. Tina Smith, for caving “to the woke mob by going along with calls to abolish the police.”

“With the Democrats getting more radical by the day, Minnesota has turned into a major battleground state,” Lewis continued. “Having only lost by just over one point in 2016, the President has proven a statewide victory for Minnesota Republicans is within our grasp. The Democrats are losing their grip on the state, and Minnesota is going to go red for President Trump and me this November!”
