Two teens were shot on Friday night at the Eden Prairie High School homecoming football game against Minnetonka.
Crime Watch Minneapolis began receiving multiple messages and video clips about 9 p.m. indicating that the game was being evacuated amid the smell of gunpowder and law enforcement from multiple agencies were arriving at the scene.

Available emergency dispatch audio subsequently indicated that two males, approximate ages 17 and 18, had been shot, one in the foot, the other in the calf.
Eden Prairie police released a brief statement indicating the injuries were not life-threatening:
“At approximately 8:40 p.m. this evening, Eden Prairie Police responded to shots fired outside Aerie Stadium on the north side of Eden Prairie High School during the homecoming football game versus Minnetonka.
Two individuals were shot and transported to Hennepin Healthcare with non-life-threatening injuries. Neither victim is a student at Eden Prairie or Minnetonka schools.
The shooting is believed to be targeted. No arrests have been made. This is an active investigation and additional information will be provided as soon as it’s available.”

Law enforcement sources told Alpha News senior reporter Liz Collin that Somali gangs were responsible.

Reaction on social media was swift and reflected disappointment, including from former state Rep. Pat Garofalo, who described the shooting as the “sort of shit that happens in Chicago and Detroit. Not here.”
I want my Minnesota back.
Ridiculous that tonight’s Eden Prairie vs Minnetonka football game had to be cancelled during the 2nd half because of gunfire.
That’s the sort of shit that happens in Chicago and Detroit. Not here.
I want my Minnesota back.

U.S. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer said “Somali gangs are terrorizing our communities and putting our children’s lives at risk.”
“It’s about damn time Walz, Flanagan, Ellison, and their local DFL lackeys get off their backsides and do something,” he said.
Of course the Eden Prairie football game shooting was another Somali gang crime. Will anyone in the Minnesota media – other than @AlphaNews – tell Minnesotans the truth? Or are they too concerned about being politically correct? It’s not racist to call out Somali gang violence.…

Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Alex Plechash said Minnesotans deserve leaders who “back our police, confront gang violence and demand consequences for violent criminals.”
“From gunfire outside an Edina church to a shooting outside an Eden Prairie homecoming game, Minnesotans have every reason to demand action. Everyone should be safe—and feel safe—at a football game, at church and in their neighborhood,” he said.
Eden Prairie High School announced Saturday morning that its homecoming dance scheduled for tonight has been cancelled because of the shooting.
Alpha News will continue to follow developments in this incident.
