A Republican candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives woke up to a disturbing sight on Saturday morning.
Leslie Larson, currently a member of the Blaine City Council, found her car had been covered with pictures of middle fingers early Saturday morning.
A security camera captured at least four people standing around the dark-colored four-door vehicle in the driveway, with their faces covered.
At one point, one of them appears to snap a selfie in the driveway.
Larson has been on the city council for more than three years.
She posted images and videos of the incident on Facebook along with these comments:
“Here was my car this morning in our driveway. If anyone has any information that can assist in finding who vandalized my car, please share. It appears that one of them is taking a selfie during their activity.
Ring cam footage from others nearby would be helpful.
My kids do not know who this is, nor was my teen’s car the target. Her car is next to mine and has teen accessories.
It is very disturbing and we would like them found.”
Larson is currently running on a platform of fighting fraud and delivering accountability.
The Republican Party of Minnesota commented on the incident, writing: “The targeting of candidates at their homes is totally unacceptable. We stand with Leslie Larson for MN.”
Alpha News reached out to the Blaine Police Department for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
Larson is running to represent District 32B in November, which includes the Blaine and Lexington areas.
“I appreciate everyone’s outpouring of support, but at this time I just want privacy for my family and will not be commenting on this matter further,” Larson said in a statement.
