VIDEO: Gov. Walz riot reactions — then and now

Gov. Tim Walz said President Donald Trump “fanned the flames of hatred,” “fomented sedition,” and “urged” rioters to kill the vice president following this month’s storming of the U.S. Capitol.

Last May, he told rioters in Minneapolis that he understood “their rage” and called their anger “justified.”

The George Floyd riots caused an estimated $500 million in damage and impacted more than 1,500 Twin Cities businesses — the second most expensive period of civil unrest in U.S. history.
