VIDEO: ‘Hotties for Harris’ bus rolls through U of M, but few show up

Alpha News shifted focus to the campus itself, where we asked students if they could name Harris's biggest accomplishment. Their response? A blank stare and a shrug.

Cellphones on the University of Minnesota campus were buzzing with the promise of a party bus to the polls.

A text message targeting Gen Z voters was sent to some students under the banner “Hotties for Harris.”

Organizers attempted to draw in students with free beer, lawn games, and a playlist filled with Taylor Swift hits, all in an effort to boost turnout for Vice President Kamala Harris.

However, Alpha News found that the turnout Friday at nearby Van Cleve Park was less than anticipated.

So, the news team shifted focus to the campus itself, where we asked students if they received the text and if they were, in fact, Hotties for Harris.

Some students stopped to tell us yes, they were.

Alpha News followed that up by asking if they could name Harris’s biggest accomplishment since taking office.

Their response?

A blank stare and a shrug, as if they were ready to just Shake It Off and move on.
