A group of Catholic, pro-life demonstrators were repeatedly maced while holding a peaceful protest outside a Planned Parenthood facility in St. Paul, video shows.
On June 18, volunteers with the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) held a rosary rally in front of the St. Paul Planned Parenthood. During that rally, TFP members encouraged passersby to support the unborn and stand up against abortion.
However, video taken by TFP shows the rally being disrupted by a woman who approached the group, shouted profanities, and repeatedly sprayed the group with mace.
“Y’all are men telling a woman how to handle their body! That’s weird!” yelled the woman as she walked by TFP members.
At one point, the woman told protestors, “I’ll mace the f— out y’all” and “Stop recording. I don’t consent to your recording.” Moments later, she sprayed mace at a TFP cameraman multiple times. The woman proceeded to walk by other TFP members saying, “Do you want to be maced?” and “I’m macing all of y’all!”
Video shows the woman walking away from the group before turning and spraying mace at a young boy who was volunteering with TFP. The enraged woman was also filmed shouting “I will mace you again! Move out of my f—ing face!” at a TFP cameraman.
Police were later called to the scene and took the woman into custody. TFP filmed police placing the woman in a squad car.
Two young boys who were volunteering with TFP described the mace attack. One said, “It got down my throat and up my nose.” The other, whose eyes were watering, said, “It burns really bad. It got in my mouth and down my throat.”
In a post about the incident, TFP said a total of six individuals were sprayed with mace.
“It did not discourage us in the least,” wrote TFP about the attack. “On the contrary, even the youngest of our volunteers were happy to endure this suffering, as they realized that the blows were received in defense of God’s law.”
Alpha News reached out to the St. Paul Police Department (SPPD) to gain more information about the incident, the woman, and any criminal charges that have been filed.
However, the agency was not able to provide any information about the incident because of a cyberattack that hit St. Paul last week. A SPPD spokesperson explained that “some of our processes are unavailable at this time due to the digital security incident.”
