WATCH: Alpha News discusses ‘1619 Project’ with Katherine Kersten, Rebekah Hagstrom

"The premise is that America is racist in its very DNA."

Alpha News reporter Willis Krumholz recently sat down with Katherine Kersten, a senior policy fellow at the Center of the American Experiment, and Rebekah Hagstrom, headmaster of Liberty Classical Academy and host of “Education Nation,” to discuss The New York Times’ 1619 Project.

Marc Durkin, producer and co-host of “Education Nation,” also joined the discussion.

“The fundamental idea was that our nation’s true founding occurred not in 1776 with the Declaration of Independence, but in 1619, which was the year that 20 black slaves first came ashore at Jamestown. The premise is that America is racist in its very DNA. The idea is that everything exceptional about America springs from slavery,” Kersten began the conversation.
