‘Yay! I hope he’s dead’: Public employees and DFLers have disgusting reactions to Charlie Kirk’s death

Rep. Ilhan Omar shared a vile video in which a man calls Kirk a "reprehensible human being" and "stochastic terrorist" who caused his own death.

School teachers, public employees, a congresswoman, and a campaign manager for several left-wing DFL politicians. These are just a few of the people who have responded ghoulishly to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Two days ago, conservative political activist Charlie Kirk was tragically killed as he spoke to students at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Authorities have since arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson in connection with the shooting that killed Kirk.

In the wake of the horrific assassination, millions of Americans have offered prayers for Kirk’s family and mourned the death of the 31-year-old political icon. Many, including President Donald Trump, have praised Kirk’s character, work, and legacy.

However, not all are united in expressing sorrow following the heinous act that took Kirk’s life. Unthinkably, people across the country have celebrated the death of a man who was a husband and father of two young children.

In Minnesota, an elementary school teacher named Ali Trepanier posted: “Yay! I hope he’s dead” in response to a social media post that reported Kirk had been shot. Earlier today, a spokesperson for Minnetonka Public Schools told Alpha News that Trepanier was put on leave.

Another teacher, Melissa Mackens Nangle, said: “He was a dick!! I don’t hate that he died. I don’t hate that he died the way he did” and “He and his like-minded buddies are the worst humanity has to offer. F–k all of them!”

Nangle works as a language arts teacher at Austin High School in Austin, Minnesota. The school district said they are aware of the post.

Myrtle Lemon-Todd, a DFL political operative who uses they/them pronouns, uploaded a deranged video to Instagram, saying, “I’m not sorry for not mourning Charlie Kirk’s death.” The DFLer asked why people are “mourning the death of a literal Nazi” and said “F–k him.”

Lemon-Todd has worked as the campaign manager and communications director for three LGBT members of the Minnesota House of Representatives: Leigh Finke, Brion Curran, and Liish Kozlowski. Finke identifies as transgender and Kozlowski identifies as non-binary.

Alpha News reached out to the House DFL Caucus for this story but did not receive a reply.

Tony Reynero, a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) employee, trashed Kirk on Facebook, saying: “This is the guy everyone is crying for, a guy who supported violence upon others” and “LMAO!! Can’t believe people are actually crying for this piece of shit hate-monger.”

DHS said it won’t be providing a comment today.

A longtime Hennepin County employee, Sandra Filardo, responded to a news article about Kirk’s death by saying: “Rich white guy is shot and killed. Trump is so sad. Meanwhile our children are getting shot in their schools and churches and he says nothing.”

“Maybe now we will get some attention to the issue of gun control,” added Filardo. “Maybe we just need Trump’s minions to be as fearful as we are in our communities for this f–king nonsense to stop. As the iconic Melissa Hortman said on[c]e ‘sorry not sorry.’ I’m pissed!”

Alpha News reached out to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office regarding this matter but did hear back.

Ilhan Omar shares vile video that trashes Charlie Kirk

On Friday morning, Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar shared a vile video in which a man calls Kirk a “reprehensible human being” and “stochastic terrorist” who caused his own death. The narrator of the video also said the “far right” was using Kirk’s death to “further their Christofascist agenda.”

Republican House Majority Whip Tom Emmer lambasted Omar for sharing the video, saying “Shame on you, [Ilhan].”

“You used your platform to share a disgusting video – a video full of lies that tries to justify the actions of the deranged coward who murdered Charlie Kirk – with your nearly 3 million followers,” added Emmer. “Charlie was a loving father and husband, and dedicated his life to the conservative movement and to create a healthy, non-violent space for civil debate.”

“This is a new low, even for you,” he concluded.

Alpha News contacted Omar’s communications director but did not immediately receive a response.
