Citing problems with foot traffic, crime and panhandlers Haskells has decided to close the Haskell’s Wine Bar on Nicollet Mall.
After taxpayers spent over $2,000,000 rebuilding Nicolett Mall, many businesses were hoping for a revival in the struggling Downtown Minneapolis. Unfortunately, foot traffic that was promised never materialized.
Crime and panhandlers are blamed for some of the reasons why consumers are shying away from Downtown.
Panhandlers would approach outdoor diners on the wine bar’s patio, he said, and customers would “get up and leave.”
