The former girlfriend of Minneapolis school shooter Robert “Robin” Westman has been identified as 22-year-old Abigail Bodick, described as a “furry,” according to the New York Post, which cited the Daily Mail.
In his journal entries, Westman reportedly referred to a “Aby/Abbey,” calling the relationship a “catalyst” and the “root of my suffering.”
The New York Post reported that Westman’s father told investigators after the shooting that his son recently “broke up with a significant and/or romantic partner.”

Westman’s writings expressed violent fantasies and resentment toward Bodick, including a claim that he once pointed a pistol at the back of Bodick’s head and felt “no remorse,” according to the Post.
Westman had recently broken up with Bodick and, in writings linked to him, said he didn’t kill Bodick because doing so would “really f— up” his plans to “kill kids,” the New York Post reported, citing the Daily Mail.
Westman reportedly wrote about being fascinated by “furries,” people who dress up as cartoonish animals, which the Post said Bodick also did.
“I like feeling sexy and cute, but my face never matches how I feel. I hate my face … maybe that’s why I like furries so much,” he wrote in one entry. “You can give yourself a new body and face.”
A Facebook page that appears to belong to Bodick lists preferred pronouns as “he/they.”
Authorities have not publicly detailed every document linked to Westman, but they previously confirmed they are reviewing extensive writings and online materials recovered during the investigation, as Alpha News has reported.
Westman, 23, opened fire during a morning Mass at Annunciation Catholic Church on Aug. 27, killing two students — Fletcher Merkel, 8, and Harper Moyski, 10 — before taking his own life.
As Alpha News previously reported, Westman wrote that “Gender and weed f-cked up my head. I wish I never tried experimenting with either. Don’t let your kids smoke weed or change gender until they are like seventeen.” Westman also reportedly expressed regret that he had brainwashed himself into “being trans.”
