The principal of White Bear Lake Area High School has announced the police are currently investigating reports that an adult over the age of 21 was enrolled in the school.
In an email to school district families, Principal Russ Reetz said “We received reports that an individual enrolled at [White Bear Lake Area High School] was over the age of 21 and promptly started an investigation.”
“Upon our initial investigation, we have determined that while enrolling this individual we followed our enrollment process, which is as rigorous as state law allows. The individual appears to have provided fraudulent documentation and a false identity to enroll,” he said.
Reetz noted that the person in question is in police custody and is banned from district property. The principal confirmed the school and the White Bear Lake Police Department are continuing to investigate the situation.

“Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of all students is our top priority,” said Reetz. “I am grateful to the staff members, families and students who saw something and decided to report it. These reports led to our investigation. We take all concerns seriously, and appropriate steps are taken any time there is a potential threat to student safety.”
Sources who spoke with Alpha News have claimed the person in question is Kelvin Luebke, a 22-year-old. Students at the school told Alpha News that Luebke claimed to be a senior and went by the name “KJ.” Students told Alpha News that he was also on the roster of the football team.
Luebke was arrested in Plymouth on Sunday morning and is currently being held in Anoka County Jail on charges of theft and lewdness. He was initially booked into the Hennepin County Jail before being transferred to Anoka.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
